Job Description

Fisher School is seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Kindergarten to support our youngest learners. This position is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about early childhood education and creating a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

The Long-Term Substitute Kindergarten Teacher will assume full classroom responsibilities during the teacher’s extended leave. The successful candidate will create a structured, engaging, and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic growth, social development, and positive behavior.

• Deliver daily lessons aligned with district curriculum and Minnesota state standards
• Implement developmentally appropriate instructional strategies
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Utilize assessments to monitor student progress

• Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and structured learning environment
• Promote social-emotional learning and positive behavior supports
• Communicate clear expectations and routines
• Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians
• Collaborate with grade-level team members and support staff
• Participate in staff meetings and professional responsibilities as needed

• Foster strong relationships with students
• Support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth
• Maintain accurate records and documentation

• Valid Minnesota teaching license in Elementary Education (required)
• Kindergarten or early childhood experience preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
• Commitment to creating a positive and engaging learning environment
