The Youth Development Training and Quality Assurance Director serves as the training and quality improvement specialist for YSA, SDC, Teens, and Early Learning programs. With general guidance from the Executive Director, the incumbent is responsible for creating, designing, and monitoring a comprehensive training system and measurement assessment for Youth Development. The Director must perform all duties in accordance with state guidelines for childcare as well as the policies, procedures, and standards established by the YMCA of Greater San Antonio.

- Builds comprehensive YD system including the design, implementation, and assessment of trainings and professional development opportunities and all the things to support the quality of our program.
- Aligns measurement and assessment with quality improvement systems.
- Lead Texas Rising Star assessments for YELC, Y School age and Summer day camp.
- Flex director covers for PD roles as needed.
- Oversee a summer day camp location.
- Responsible for hiring and supervising staff.
- Monitors pilot projects/initiatives for compliance and necessary improvements to include: CATCH, Kids Lit, YUSA upgrade, etc.
- Design and facilitate trainings for frontline staff for school age, teens, camp, early learning.
- Assesses program effectiveness against data and strategizes improvement processes.
- Designs and implement strategies to increase retention and employee satisfaction.
- Builds and manages a tracking system for staff training and professional development requirements. Ensures that program directors are entering data for their direct staff, and that all staff are in compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Provides coaching and support to frontline staff as needed.
- Reviews and evaluates site performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff to achieve goals and correct licensing deficiencies.

- Follow systems, practices, and training related to risk management and safety of participants and staff and follow incident reporting procedures and policies.

- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Education, Child Development, Family Services or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in childcare operations. Two of which must be in Out of School time Programming.
- Two years experience in administration, staff supervision, and promotion is required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must meet HHS standards for Director qualifications.
- Must be familiar with curriculum, policies, procedures, and frameworks within Out of School Time field as well as HHS standards.
- Knowledge of adult learning principals and the ability to employ different learning methods is required.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must be an effective trainer and communicator for all levels of staff.
- Must understand the basic concepts of a voluntary, non‑profit organization, as well as the structure of the YMCA as a partnership of volunteers and staff and accept a commitment to the YMCA mission.
