Overview
KIPP Texas Public Schools is hiring School Leaders in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. You will be asked for your location preference during the application process.
School Leaders set vision and direction in partnership with staff, students, and families to drive school improvement and align with KIPP Texas goals for healthy schools. You will manage, coach, and develop instructional, operational, and support staff to ensure a positive learning community with a focus on building a college-going culture. You will work with regional leadership and state-wide departments to ensure enrollment, operations, finances, and talent systems are sound.
This role is for experienced leaders, with a track record of school improvement in transformation settings.
- Lead a team to build a school of academic excellence and joy.
- Set ambitious school-wide vision and goals aligned to state targets to drive improvement and college readiness.
- Create and execute school-wide plans to allocate time and resources to achieve annual goals.
- Champion KIPP TX core values and foster a collaborative community.
- Lead, coach, and develop a school leadership team (Assistant Principals of Instruction, Operations, and other leaders).
- Hire, supervise, coach, and retain instructional and support staff.
- Partner with state-wide departments to implement financial, operations, and talent systems.
- Cultivate a high-potential school leadership pipeline.
- Translate academic strategy to drive school improvement and student success.
- Develop staff capacity to internalize high-quality instructional materials, standards, curriculum, assessments, and lessons.
- Champion services for emergent bilinguals, students with IEPs and 504s in compliance with regulations.
- Monitor student learning and teacher development; analyze data to adjust instruction.
- Observe and coach campus leaders to provide high-impact feedback to teachers.
- Foster teacher collaboration and lead whole-school professional learning.
- Continuously learn and adapt content, pedagogy, and instructional methods.
- Design and implement plans to onboard families and cultivate a college-going environment.
- Maintain enrollment targets and strong daily attendance.
- Develop school-wide systems to support positive culture and strong staff-student relationships.
- Collaborate with families to address culture-related breaches.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s preferred. - Texas Principal certification preferred.
- 3-5 years as a principal leading schools serving a similar student population; transformation experience preferred.
- At least 2 years as an Assistant Principal or equivalent with a track record of academic growth (required).
- 2 years of teaching experience (required).
- Demonstrated success leading teams to accelerate progress in transformation settings.
- Ability to lead people and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong prioritization, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Effective teaching and learning practices; excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills.
- Strong planning, goal setting, coordination, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead change initiatives and embrace innovation; engage parents and community.
- Starting salary from $92,250, commensurate with experience.
