The Associate Director of Student Financial Aid supports the strategic and operational management of the Student Financial Aid Office by overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality service to students and the community. This role assists with managing financial aid programs and implementing processes that promote equitable and efficient distribution of financial resources. The Associate Director supervises staff, coordinates federal, state, and institutional aid programs, contributes to data reporting, audits, implements policies and procedures, and system optimization.
The position plays a key role in financial aid advising, enrollment goals, and cross-department collaboration to support student access, retention, and success.
Reporting to the Director of Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Financial Aid and working within Student Success, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising a staff comprised of employees responsible for financial aid operations, including subject-specific duties relevant to the field of financial aid (financial aid packaging, professional judgment, student loans, FAFSA verification, student employment, etc.). Must be a team player with a positive attitude, supportive of change, committed to sharing ideas, innovative, kind, and have a passion for assisting students, staff, and colleagues with understanding key and relevant financial aid matters.
Hours per Week: 40 (Hours may vary during specific times as office hours could be as late as 9:00 PM with some Saturday hours)

Job Summary and DescriptionServes as the Associate Director of Student Financial Aid (SFA). Oversees all daily operations of one or more financial aid programs. Performs financial aid counseling. Supervises staff.
Reports to the Department of Finance and Fiscal Services.
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
- Five years of closely related professional work experience to include supervisory experience.
Education and Experience
- Knowledge of Banner
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations related to determination of eligibility, awarding, disbursement, and statistical analysis.
- Skill in using personal computers and current software programs to include Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to prepare and present Student Financial Aid information to prospective students and parents in person or to larger groups in the community.
- Ability to multi-task for extended hours, work under high stress and high volume during peak periods.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty and the public/community.
