Adjunct Instructor of Education

OLLU, founded in 1895 by the Congregation of Divine Providence, is a coeducational comprehensive institution with an enrollment of more than 3,100 students. With its main residential campus in San Antonio and non‑traditional programs in San Antonio, Houston, the Rio Grande Valley (La Feria), and online, OLLU has a presence in two of the largest cities in Texas, the border region, and literally around the world.
The University offers more than 30 undergraduate majors and minors, 14 master’s programs and three doctoral programs through its College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and Leadership, and the College of Professional Studies. OLLU offers classes in daytime, evening, weekend and online formats.
Job Description:
The School of Professional Studies Education Department at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio invites applications from qualified individuals to teach undergraduate and graduate education courses. Courses in several topic areas may be available, including the following:
- Curriculum and Instruction
- Special Education
- Literacy and Reading
- ESL
Requirements:
Applicants must hold an earned Master's or Doctorate degree in Education or a related field; must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of current best practices in the specific fields of:
- ESL
- Reading Literacy
- Curriculum and Instruction (including teacher education and pedagogy)
- Special Education
Qualifications:
- Background in education or previous teaching at the university level preferred.
- Texas Teacher Certification preferred.
- PK‑12 classroom teaching experience preferred.
Willingness to teach courses in a variety of formats including traditional, weekend and online.
Must be student centered.
Must demonstrate outstanding presentation/teaching skills.
Must incorporate technology and model best teaching practices.
