Adjunct Instructor of Accounting

OLLU, founded in 1895 by the Congregation of Divine Providence, is a coeducational comprehensive institution with an enrollment of more than 3,100 students. With its main residential campus in San Antonio and non-traditional programs in San Antonio, Houston, the Rio Grande Valley (La Feria), and online, OLLU has a presence in two of the largest cities in Texas, the border region, and globally.

The University offers more than 30 undergraduate majors and minors, 14 master's programs, and three doctoral programs through its College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and Leadership, and the College of Professional Studies. OLLU provides classes in daytime, evening, weekend, and online formats.

The Business Programs of the School of Business and Leadership at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio seek part-time Adjunct Accounting Instructors beginning Fall 2015 (August 30, 2015).

The courses to be taught include:

• Financial Accounting (Principles of Accounting and Intermediate Accounting)
• Taxation
• Auditing
• Cost Accounting or Managerial Accounting

Responsibilities include preparing syllabi, lectures, assignments, and assessments, under the supervision of a lead professor who will provide a sample syllabus and select textbooks. In addition, instructors should be available for student assistance outside class for at least one hour per week per section and respond to student inquiries within 24-48 hours.

• Ph.D. in Accounting preferred OR Master's degree in Accounting or related business field from an accredited institution, with current CPA licensure in Texas or ability to obtain reciprocity licensure before the academic term starts.
• Significant professional experience in the accounting field, such as industry experience or work in professional accounting firms.
• Availability to teach in various modalities: face-to-face or online classes.
• Willingness to teach in formats including day, evening, or weekend classes.
• Prior teaching or work experience in relevant topic areas and formats.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, student-centered approaches, and use of technology in the classroom. University-level teaching experience in accounting is highly preferred.
