Dean of Students – Middle School

BASIS Shavano is seeking qualified candidates for the Dean of Students - Middle School role.

• Support teachers to resolve differences in communication with parents and students.
• Organize student arrival and dismissal.
• Organize and review results of assessments for new students, state‑required assessments, and the BASIS Comprehensive or Curriculum Gains program.
• Review progress reports and mid‑semester reports.
• Organize and execute student academic and behavior support.
• Maintain student discipline and follow through with documentation.
• Communicate and meet with parents regarding student performance and/or conduct.
• Participate in the development of academic and student schedules.
• Participate in the planning and execution of standardized assessments.
• Support teachers in building positive relationships with parents.
• Participate in all faculty and staff meetings.

• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in a school setting (charter or independent preferred).
• Behavior management or relevant experience preferred.

• Strong belief in and adherence to the BASIS Ed model.
• Relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to effectively analyze data to improve student achievement.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise excellent judgment and decision‑making.
• Excellent problem‑solving and negotiating skills.
• Ability to work independently with diverse constituents while maintaining high professional standards.
• Exemplary organizational skills; ability to establish and manage multiple priorities; ability to work under pressure.
• Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
