Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm / 40 hours per week

Summary

The Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) will assist and be responsible for the application of our parish catechetical process for youth up to the age of 11. The CRE will be responsible for assisting in coordinating, planning, and the implementation of the parish faith formation programs. CRE will perform administrative duties related to the faith formation programs and maintain important records of families attending faith formation programs.

The CRE reports directly to the Director of Religious Education (DRE) and collaborates with the Parish Pastor.

Responsibilities
  • Organize, maintain, and coordinate faith formation schedules, assignments of catechists, and classroom preparation.
  • Assist and coordinate the recruitment of catechists and volunteers for catechetical programs.
  • Collaborate with review of textbook materials, order necessary resources and supplies.
  • Create faith formation schedules to include special sacramental celebrations, retreats, and special parish events.
  • Assist families in registration and understanding sacramental guidelines, as necessary.
  • Organize parent meetings, advise families and catechists in faith formation questions and concerns.
  • Prepare and coordinate with staff all pertinent administrative duties.
  • Support parish staff and the mission of the parish community.
  • Meet accordingly with pastoral staff for planning purposes and integration of Religious Education programs with parish programs.
  • Assist with pulpit talks, bulletin announcements, social media, and any digital communication on behalf of faith formation events.
  • Coordinate emails and contact with families through Flock Note application.
  • Assist with Diocesan Appeal, Capital Campaign, and other major parish fundraisers.
  • Coordinate with Safe Environment Coordinator to ensure all catechists and volunteers are in good standing with Archdiocese safe environment training.
  • Maintain continuous education and training in the faith.
  • Adhere to Archdiocese Code of Conduct and safe environment mandates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Active member and in good standing with the Catholic Church and its teaching.
  • Undergraduate work in Theology, Catechesis, or extensive parish experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).
  • Three years of parish and/or administrative office experience.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with different social media platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams and share creativity for the benefit of the whole community.
  • Ability to communicate with various staff and management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to compose correspondence, minutes, and/or reports.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
