Children’s Ministry Director

St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church – San Antonio, TX

St. Matthew’s UMC is looking for a faith-filled, energetic leader to guide our children’s ministry (nursery–5th grade). This role is about helping kids and families grow in their faith through creative programs, meaningful relationships, and joyful experiences.

• Plan and lead Sunday School (nursery–5th grade) including curriculum, teachers, and attendance
• Organize Wednesday night children’s ministry during the school year
• Partner with the Senior Pastor to lead Vacation Bible School, summer camps, Easter & Christmas events
• Present the weekly Children’s Message and help make worship family-friendly
• Oversee the Nursery Ministry and work with the Youth Director for coordinated family ministry
• Lead Day School chapel weekly, serve on the Day School Board, and support graduations/special events
• Participate in staff meetings and support additional projects as needed

• College degree or 2+ years leading a successful children’s ministry
• Available to work Sundays and Wednesdays
• Active and vibrant Christian faith
• Familiar with Methodist/Wesleyan theology (or willing to learn)

• Loves working with children and families
• Self-starter who motivates and inspires others
• Team player with excellent listening and communication skills, integrity, trust, and a heart for ministry

$14,500–$15,000 per year (based on experience)

Schedule:

~20 hours/week, including Sundays & Wednesdays
