Associate Clinical Professor

Position Details

Associate Clinical Professor – full‑time, non‑tenure track – at the Rosenberg School of Optometry, University of the Incarnate Word.

Mission:

• Teach classroom and clinical laboratory courses in optometry theory and clinical examination series.
• Perform clinical duties in RSO Eye Care Clinics.
• Develop curriculum and advance program outcomes.
• Prepare course outlines and deliver interactive lectures.
• Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook and Clinical policies.
• Advise and mentor students, hold weekly office hours.
• Conduct scholarly research and publication.
• Provide service to department, college, university, community, and profession.

• OD from an accredited School or College of Optometry.
• At least five (5) years of experience as an OD and teaching in academic setting.
• Proficiency in instructional technology and engaging students.
• Effective instructional delivery; ability to work collegially.
• Licensure to practice full‑scope Optometry in Texas (or obtain by assignment).
• Advanced academic degree and prior residency training preferred.
