** what you get to do:
*** conduct park program tours for various aged campers at animal habitats.
* provide instruction and lead campers in camp activities.
* supervise camper’s health and safety
* implement theme appropriate curriculum to both large and small audiences
* continuously develop skills and knowledge base in order to accurately provide up to date information on educational topics.
* work cooperatively with other counselors to prepare daily/nightly activities and materials for campers.
* assist in maintenance, inventory and organization of all supplies, equipment and artifacts used in presentations and activities
* greet and assist campers and their parents on checking in and out days.
* plan, implement, teach, and supervise curriculum and extra-curricular activities for camp participants.
* consistently practice safe work habits
** what it takes to succeed:
*** at least 18 years of age
* at least 6 months of prior experience working with children in a formal or informal educational setting
* able to stand and walk outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for prolonged periods of time
* excellent written and oral communication skills
* able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays
* able to provide two positive letters of recommendation
* able to obtain cpr/first aid/aed certification
* valid drivers license preferred
* consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations
* willing to comply with and ensure team members comply with all sea grooming guidelines and employment standards.
