Hospitalist - Physician

Medical Director – Hospital Medicine - San Antonio, TX
University Health is seeking a   board-certified Internal Medicine physician  to serve as  Medical Director of Hospital Medicine  at our new community hospital,  University Health Palo Alto,  opening in  2027 .
This physician leader will provide clinical, operational, and quality oversight for the hospitalist program while partnering with hospital administration to deliver high-quality inpatient care.

Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and oversight for hospitalists
Lead recruitment, onboarding and scheduling
Standardize care processes, rounding models, and handoffs
Oversee quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives
Collaborate with ancillary services and hospital leadership
Manage staffing plans, productivity, and resource utilization
Participate in policy development, governance, and compliance activities
About University Health Palo Alto
University Health Palo Alto Hospital broke ground on January 18, 2024 and will open in 2027 with  166 beds , expanding to  286 beds . The campus will include a 24/7 emergency department, labor and delivery, NICU, inpatient units, and a connected  100,000-square-foot medical office building  offering multispecialty care.
