. We seek a recognized leader in maternal and fetal medicine who will bring excellence in clinical care, team building, and scholarly contribution. This is a well-established division that is a clinical leader in the San Antonio market. Dr. Hill has led the division in the past, but as Chair, would like to oversee continued growth and expansion of the department, and ensure that the MFM division is left with excellent leadership.
The new chief will have established a successful background as a leader in maternal and fetal medicine. The division will look to this chief for mentorship and continued growth in its clinical and research missions. You will have an excellent opportunity to continue to develop the reputation of this division and the faculty within, demanding the highest quality of medical care for patients.
The successful candidate for this role will have a background as a clinical leader and experience with recruitment and clinical growth.
The Division of Maternal and Fetal Medicine is currently made up of seven (7) faculty members with plans for growth. They are also supported by four (4) nurse practitioners and four (4) genetic counselors. This is a primarily outpatient practice that provides consult service for inpatient women’s services at CHRISTUS Children’s. They have partnered with a telemedicine company to provide inpatient coverage, so the team is available for consults as back-up.
In addition, the hospital employs an OB Hospitalist program that covers deliveries 24/7. This program leads the way in San Antonio in innovative MFM care with the only one ofits kindMaternal Mental Health Programin the area, as well as the only comprehensiveFetal Care Centerin the market that provides fetal interventions, in-office procedures, and pediatric subspecialty consults.
