The Department of Ophthalmology, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine (LSOM) at UT Health San Antonio is seeking to add a faculty member to join our team that values collaboration, education, and superior patient care. Optimal candidates will have an established track record of peer-reviewed research, excellence in education, and outstanding clinical service. The physician should have completed an ACGME-accredited residency/ fellowship and be board-certified or board eligible in the specialty required.

The candidate should have excellent clinical abilities and outstanding communication skills. The faculty member will be expected to participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.

UTHSA is located in a large metropolitan area with a 50-county referral base and approximately 2.3 million inhabitants. San Antonio enjoys year-round good weather, is a favored travel destination, and is the home of the Spurs Basketball team, Sea World
- San Antonio, Fiesta Six Flags Amusement Park, the Alamo, Riverwalk, and countless other attractions.

Our academic partner, University Health System, is a nationally recognized teaching hospital and network of outpatient healthcare centers owned by the people of Bexar County. In partnership with UT Health Physicians, the practice plan of UTHSA is consistently recognized as a leader in advanced treatment options, new technologies, and clinical research.

The faculty member will be expected to participate in education of medical students, residents, and fellows. Responsibilities include providing high-quality clinical care in the Oculoplastics field, participating in research activities, and contributing to education and mentorship within the department.

• Completed an ACGME-accredited residency/fellowship and be board-certified or board eligible in the required specialty.
• Excellence in clinical service and outstanding communication skills.
• Record of peer-reviewed research and demonstrated commitment to education.
• Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure; meet all criteria for faculty appointments and credentialing by the faculty practice plan.
