Our client is a nationally recognized specialty subcontractor providing architectural interior construction solutions across complex commercial construction projects throughout the United States. The company partners with leading general contractors, developers, architects, and owner representatives on high-profile projects including airports, healthcare facilities, corporate campuses, and large commercial developments.
Position OverviewOur client is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead growth and client development efforts across the Texas market, including San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston. This is a critical, high-visibility role focused on expanding market presence and securing large-scale commercial interior construction projects.
This position is ideal for a proven construction industry sales professional with strong relationships among general contractors, architects, developers, and owner representatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving strategic growth and strengthening market position throughout Texas.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to grow market presence within the Texas commercial construction industry
- Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities with general contractors, developers, architects, and owner representatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at major general contracting firms and development organizations
- Actively manage and grow an existing book of business while developing new client relationships
- Track upcoming projects, bid opportunities, and market trends within the commercial construction pipeline
- Collaborate closely with estimating, operations, and executive leadership teams to support project pursuit and successful execution
- Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings
- Maintain consistent travel throughout Texas, including San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas
- Provide regular pipeline updates, sales forecasts, and market intelligence to leadership
- Minimum 5+ years of business development or sales experience within the commercial construction industry
- Proven success selling services for a subcontractor or general contractor, preferably within interior trades
- Experience with Division 6–12 scopes, including architectural woodwork, doors, frames, millwork, drywall, glazing, ceilings, or related interior construction scopes
- Established relationships with general contractors, architects, developers, and owner representatives in the Texas market
- Demonstrated success securing and managing large, multi-million-dollar commercial construction projects
Bachelor’s degree required (Construction Management, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred) - Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, outgoing, and capable of working independently in a territory-based role
- Experience working for a specialty subcontractor focused on interior construction or build-outs
- Background in architectural interiors, millwork, glazing, drywall, ceilings, framing, or related trades
- Experience supporting large commercial projects such as airports, healthcare facilities, or corporate campuses
- Existing network within the Texas commercial construction market
- Home office based in San Antonio, Dallas, or Houston
- Monthly travel throughout Texas required
- Highly visible, client-facing, territory-based role requiring regular in-person meetings and site visits
