Reports To:
Chief Estimator
Responsible for analyzing construction drawings in paper and electronic formats, review geological soils reports, review all technical documentation, analyze labor and equipment requirements, prepare proposals for bid submission, prepare and present project overview to field personnel, maintain history for market trend reviews. This position is required to closely interact with Engineers, Sub-Contractors, and Suppliers to assure the timely and accurate submission of each project estimate.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Review and Verify project material requirements.
- Review and Verify project scope.
- Apply practical knowledge and historical data to determine reasonable expectations for projected labor and equipment requirements.
- Apply practical knowledge and historical data to determine reasonable expectations for projected productivity.
- Maintain orderly project documentation and backup information with respect to each estimate.
- Update project estimate per engineer issued addendums and clarifications.
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
QualificationsEducation and/or Experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Heavy Bid Software, AGTek Software, AutoCAD Software
Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Engineers, Owners and / or other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsThis job requires no certificates, licenses or registrations.
