SA Paving Laborer – Lone Star Paving
Lone Star Paving is a paving contractor operating in the Central Texas region with paving crews, HMA, aggregate, trucking, milling, and quality control. Our operations complete heavy highway and civil projects throughout Texas. Position OverviewThe Common Laborer position is an integral part of the paving crew, working with the entire team, foreman, and superintendent to ensure paving jobs are completed to high standards. The ideal candidate is familiar with physical labor and can perform tasks related to asphalt work in numerous settings and environments.
Key Responsibilities- General laborer duties associated with asphalt paving, patching or prep crews.
- Shovel, rake and handle other small tools.
- Equipment cleanup as needed.
- Run small power tools as required.
- Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
- Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 1 year (or less) of experience.
- Organized and detail‑oriented.
- Positive, friendly, and professional.
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one‑on‑one setting.
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety policy and encourage a safety culture.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to avoid injuries and endangerment.
- Promote a team approach and maintain open dialogue with all employees.
- Collaborate with project teams on special initiatives as required.
- Entry-level position.
- Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment, plus an understanding of operations and safety requirements (preferred).
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations – a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required.
- Some travel may be required as operations span throughout Texas.
- Work is performed outdoors, which may involve inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
