Asphalt Paving Machine Screed Operator; Dallas, TX - Austin Bridge & Road

We are looking for experienced Asphalt Paving Machine Screed Operators to join Austin Bridge & Road on our North Texas asphalt projects. The role focuses on safe and efficient operation of the screed to provide a level, high‑quality asphalt surface and support the paving crew on site.

• Perform daily equipment maintenance and inspections.
• Operate the screed safely and efficiently during paving operations.
• Ensure the screed is clean, properly adjusted and appropriately referenced before and at the end of each shift.
• Monitor temperature settings and adjust the screed pavement reference components to meet project specifications, width, depth, grade, and slope.
• Maintain proper contact between gates, endgate springs, chains, and the paving surface.
• Troubleshoot problems and make the necessary adjustments to the screed during paving operations.
• Install and remove electronic grade control as required.
• Assist the paving crew with site preparation and any other activity as needed.
• Participate as a vital team member contributing toward Austin Bridge & Road’s success.
• Attend daily safety meetings and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Work hours may be adjusted to meet the project’s needs; days, nights, weekends and adverse weather conditions (hot or cold) are possible.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 1+ year of experience operating asphalt equipment.
• Strong commitment to jobsite safety and diligent safe work practices.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; this position does not sponsor or take over visa sponsorship.
