DIR - ENGINEERING/PLANT OPS

OverviewLaurel Ridge Treatment Center has been a premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addiction services since 1987. The facility is a 330‑bed, 29‑acre campus serving patients of all ages and treating conditions such as bipolar disorder, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.
ResponsibilitiesDirector of Plant Operations and Environment of Care ensures a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients, staff, and guests.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the maintenance team and maintain FTEs and budgetary priorities.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, local, and managed‑care regulations for fire and life safety, building and engineering codes, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds maintenance.
- Develop, write, and implement departmental policies, procedures, and quarterly staff training.
- Serve as safety officer, plant safety manager, chief security officer, and chairman of the safety committee.
- Maintain Computerized Maintenance Management, meet roof, building, TJC emergency preparedness, and infrastructure assessment standards.
- Proficiently manage long‑range capital planning, disaster planning, recovery, mitigation, inventory, and central supply purchasing.
- Act as point of contact for plant operations during emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
- Develops, writes, and implements departmental policies and procedures.
- Develops, writes and implements quarterly training for staff.
- Ensures customer satisfaction to all patients, visitors, and staff.
- As Safety Officer, develops, writes and implements plant operations program that is reported to Safety Committee.
- Covers work areas as needed.
- Maintains Computerized Maintenance Management.
- Meets Roof Maintenance Standards.
- Meets Building Maintenance Program for Life Safety.
- Meets TJC Emergency Preparedness Standards.
- Meets Infrastructure Assessment Standards.
- Proficient in Long‑range Capital Planning.
- Proficient in Disaster Planning, Recovery and Mitigation.
- Meets Medical Equipment Maintenance Standards.
- Proficient in Inventory Management.
- Maintains, controls, supervises all aspects of central supply, purchasing, and mailroom.
- Responsibilities Outlined in Trainings.
Knowledge of maintenance practices, departmental policies, fire safety code, JCAHO requirements, and state/federal plant operations regulations.
Skills:
Operation of cleaning and maintenance equipment, planning and organizing maintenance processes, adherence to safety and loss‑control policies, strong verbal and written communication.
College graduate; preferably with a Facility Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
Licensure / CertificationValid Class C driver license; clean driving record.
ExperienceMinimum 5 years in general plant operation/engineering and building construction, including supervisory experience.
