Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a central role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the company's financial information, with a heavy emphasis on variable compensation accounting and payroll processing. This position is well suited for someone who values structured processes, analytical depth, and a work environment that prioritizes precision and professional expertise. The Senior Accountant will participate in key accounting functions including revenue recognition, inventory management, period-end close, general ledger maintenance, and weekly payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate variable compensation for eligible employees.
- Process weekly payroll, including performing internal controls, to ensure the completeness and accuracy of individual employee pay.
- Reconcile financial data between applications and systems.
- Conduct month-end physical inventory counts and maintain inventory lists across relevant systems.
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and yearend close procedures, including financial reporting tasks, including recording journal entry accruals.
- Complete monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages.
- Perform financial statement analysis to identify outliers and trends.
- Provide guidance and training to Accounting Assistants in accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
What You
Offer:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience; experience with financial statement analysis preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - pivot tables, logic formulas, data automation.
- A methodical, detail oriented approach to financial work.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with structured processes.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with established accounting standards.
- Clear, thoughtful communication, grounded in data and documentation.
- Commitment to accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement.
