GL Specialist

Job Summary

Kaiea is seeking a GL Specialist to work remote.

The General Ledger (GL) Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records. This role supports month-end and year-end close processes, prepares journal entries, reconciles balance sheet accounts, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting
• Support audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
• Monitor accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Collaborate with AP, AR, payroll, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data
• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–5 years of general ledger or accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
• Experience with month-end close processes
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
