Staff Accountant

Job Title: Staff Accountant
Compensation: $65,000–$75,000

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a strong focus on job costing and project accounting to support our growing finance team. This role is central to maintaining accurate job cost data, supporting financial close, and providing reliable insights into project performance.

• Maintain and analyze job cost detail, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead allocations

• Partner with project teams to ensure accurate cost coding and timely job cost reporting

• Track and reconcile WIP, job cost accruals, and cost-to-complete estimates

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company policies

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Support revenue forecasting and provide job-level variance analysis

• Participate in month-end and year-end close activities

• Assist with audits by providing job cost and financial documentation

• Identify opportunities to improve job costing accuracy, controls, and accounting processes

• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent and reliable financial reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based environments

• Strong understanding of job costing and construction accounting principles

• Experience with general ledger systems and financial close processes

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications

• Experience with construction or project-based ERPs such as Spectrum, Sage, or similar
