Senior Accountant
Job Purpose

The Senior Accountant supports the monthly close process, prepares journal entries, reconciles accounts, produces financial statements, and develops reports using Excel and database reporting tools. This role contributes to organizational growth by delivering accurate financial insights while upholding the company's mission, vision, and values.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries and support junior accounting staff.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Prepare operational and management reports with detailed financial analysis.
• Develop, monitor, and review budgets for assigned entities or accounts.
• Support annual tax preparation and coordinate with internal and external partners.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of accounting systems and procedures.
• Perform ad hoc reporting, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership on special projects and ongoing initiatives.
• Provide guidance and support to junior staff as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience; healthcare accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with reporting tools and/or SQL preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
