Cedars of Marin – Art Facilitator (San Anselmo, CA)

Cedars of Marin provides day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Cedars Fine Art Studios (FAS) is seeking an Art Facilitator with painting experience to teach small classes and guide Cedars artists in fine art, sculpture, bookmaking, fabric arts, wearable art, jewelry making, and upcycled art.

As a Cedars Instructor, you will exhibit patience, compassion, and sincere interest in the work and well‑being of each artist. In this role you will identify the strengths and interests of each artist and help them deepen their skills to create gallery-ready portfolios. Cedars artists display and sell their work at four yearly shows at Artist Within – a Cedars Gallery located in downtown San Anselmo, where they receive 50% of the proceeds for each piece sold.

• Position: 4 days per week (Mon‑Thu) 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Pay: $22.75 /hour
• Bonus: up to $1,000 distributed over the first year of employment

Facilitate small group classes, mentor and support artistic development, lead group projects, coordinate exhibitions, maintain studio organization, and assist with logistics for art shows.

• College degree in Art or comparable experience as a producing artist
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support artistic development of others
• Required teaching or instructional experience
• Positive attitude, good sense of humor, patience and compassion
• Painting experience (non‑oil) is a plus
• Strong teamwork and group‑leader skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Flexibility to handle varied assignments and willingness to pitch‑in
• Pass physical, TB test, and meet physical requirements
• Valid DMV driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience; willing to drive a passenger van
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain both
• Pass criminal background check with FBI and DOJ
