Culinary Server – Buckner Retirement Services, Inc.
Location: San Angelo – Onsite, 902-903 N Main St, San Angelo, TX 76903
Job Schedule: Full Time
Responsibilities- Bus tables and wash off tables after meals.
- Prepare beverages and food as required.
- Serve food in dining rooms or other areas.
- Serve beverages to residents as required.
- Blend food in an electric blender; prepare steam table.
- Prepare hot cart and serve food; clean and sanitize carts.
- Wash dishes, scrape and rack dishes, and store clean dishes.
- Mop, sweep, and clean work area.
- Take out trash.
- Wrap silverware.
- Receive and store groceries, frozen foods, produce, etc.; date and rotate canned goods.
- Detect and correct or report situations that could cause accidents or injuries to residents or others.
- Observe and report resident symptoms, reactions, and changes.
- Participate in in‑service training.
- Maintain compliance with Buckner policies, procedures, and requirements, as well as all federal, state, and agency regulatory guidelines.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write and understand English business documents.
- Effective verbal communication with residents, families, visitors and co‑workers.
- Ability to follow basic written and oral step‑by‑step instructions.
- Ability to move food serving and preparation equipment, using up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, stand and walk for 75% of the shift.
- Ability to use kitchen equipment safely and recognize problems by sound.
- Must work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks.
- Must cooperate with other employees and consider residents’ well‑being.
- Ability to learn basic food serving, cleanliness and sanitation requirements.
- Commitment to Christian principles and teachings, both professionally and personally.
- Good health; employees with infectious disease or skin lesions that are communicable are not permitted to work.
- Ability to comply with patient rights, regulatory requirements, and all company policies and procedures.
