We are currently seeking:
An airport maintenance worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to the daily operations at the San Angelo Regional Airport; maintain operational records and files; conduct a variety of janitorial and maintenance functions; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Your responsibilities will include:- Performing semiskilled general labor work in cleaning and maintaining buildings and grounds at San Angelo Regional Airport - Mathis Field (SJT).
- Performing deep cleaning and sanitization of airport restrooms, including scrubbing toilets, urinals, and sinks; polishing mirrors and fixtures to maintain high standards of public hygiene.
- Monitoring and restocking restroom supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap dispensers to ensure uninterrupted service for travelers.
- Performing professional floor care, including mopping, stripping, and waxing hard surface floors; vacuuming carpets in terminal lobbies, waiting areas, and secured boarding areas.
- Emptying, cleaning, and relining interior and exterior trash and recycling receptacles throughout airport facilities and grounds.
- Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as seating, handrails, counters, and baggage claim areas to promote a safe environment for the public.
- Performing general facility maintenance and repair duties, including light carpentry; conduit and wiring work; minor maintenance on mowers, vehicles, and machinery; replacement of HVAC air filters; maintenance of exterior lighting; and general HVAC knowledge as needed.
- Inspecting grounds and facilities to identify maintenance needs; reviewing repair requests; planning and prioritizing projects; and coordinating maintenance and repair work with contractors and City departments as needed.
- Performing job site inspections of ongoing and completed work assignments to ensure timely completion and minimize operational disruption.
- Enforcing all safety rules and regulations to reduce risk and enhance the safety of employees and visitors.
- Performing maintenance and repairs in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations; working independently and exercising sound judgment.
- Operating equipment in accordance with safety regulations; identifying and reporting mechanical issues requiring additional repair.
- Inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining trucks and equipment; reporting mechanical problems as identified.
- Completing required daily logs and reports.
- Promptly reporting emergency situations and implementing response procedures.
Sunday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Schedules may include weekends and holidays and are subject to change.
Regular and timely attendance is required.

Requirements and Skills:- Identifying maintenance needs and prioritizing repair and maintenance projects.
- Supervising staff, delegating tasks and authority, and evaluating staff performance.
- Promoting and enforcing safe work practices.
- Performing a wide variety of skilled and semiskilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of airport facilities.
- Safe operation of trucks, tools and equipment according to airport operating and safety procedures.
- Operating and maintaining tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Closely following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Licenses orCertifications:
- A valid driver license with a good driving record is required.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- Must be able to successfully pass a 10-year Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment.
- Licensing and technical certifications in the building trades are preferred and may be required.
- Work is performed in an outdoor and indoor environment.
- Subject to sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of objects up to 82 pounds.
- Driving on active airport movement areas.
- Exposure to potentially hostile members of the public is involved.
