Job Description

* Use the Cognos Analytics business intelligence tool to develop reports and dashboards for the campus community in support of business operations and decision support

* Utilize Cognos Packages, Structured Query Language (SQL) and other tools to extract and manipulate data from Oracle transactional database tables and data warehouse

* Communicate with faculty and staff to gather, clarify and refine requirements

* Track and document information requests using Service Now

* Develop and support a report catalog and metadata

* Other duties as assigned

* Standard operating hours for this position are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday

Required Qualifications

* Must be a currently enrolled, registered student in good academic standing.

* Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.

* Must have a medium to strong technical background.

* Strong sense of discretion is required.

* Must be able to pass a basic criminal activities background check.

* Must have successfully completed one of the following or equivalent:

* 1315 Fundamentals of Programming

* 1336 Computer Science I

* 1351 Java Programming

* 3332 Data Analytics

Preferred Qualifications

* Majoring or minoring in Computer Science, MIS or other technology major

* Knowledge of scripting and basic programming skills.

* Knowledge of reporting and trending is desired.

* Effective oral and written communication skills are strongly desired

Physical Demands

Position requires sitting/standing at a computer during work shift
