Job Description

Use the Cognos Analytics business intelligence tool to develop reports and dashboards for the campus community in support of business operations and decision support

Utilize Cognos Packages, Structured Query Language (SQL) and other tools to extract and manipulate data from Oracle transactional database tables and data warehouse

Communicate with faculty and staff to gather, clarify and refine requirements

Track and document information requests using Service Now

Develop and support a report catalog and metadata

Other duties as assigned

Standard operating hours for this position are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday

Required Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled, registered student in good academic standing.
• Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.
• Must have a medium to strong technical background.
• Strong sense of discretion is required.
• Must be able to pass a basic criminal activities background check.
• Must have successfully completed one of the following or equivalent:
  • 1315 Fundamentals of Programming
  • 1336 Computer Science I
  • 1351 Java Programming
  • 3332 Data Analytics

Preferred Qualifications

• Majoring or minoring in Computer Science, MIS or other technology major
• Knowledge of scripting and basic programming skills.
• Knowledge of reporting and trending is desired.
• Effective oral and written communication skills are strongly desired

Physical Demands

Position requires sitting/standing at a computer during work shift

Salary
starting at $13 per hour
