Overview
We are currently seeking:
An Assistant Director of Finance to join our team. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and manage the City's finance functions, including budgeting and planning, accounting, and treasury operations. Produces annual operating budget, leads the annual audit, prepares financial reporting, and oversees debt and investments management. Supervises a staff of professional finance and accounting personnel. City's fixed asset system;
maintains the City's chart of accounts; compiles and analyzes financial data; prepares and submits financial reports; coordinates and participates in audit processes; prepares and maintains audit schedules; and supervises assigned personnel.
Establishes goals, objectives, and priorities for area of responsibility.

Requirements and Skills- Managing and coordinating the City's finance functions.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulations governing municipal accounting activities.
- Compiling/analyzing financial data and preparing a variety of financial records and reports.
- Coordinating and participating in annual audit processes.
- Administering the City's fixed asset system.
- Supervising, leading, and delegating tasks and authority.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with staff, City departments, outside agencies, and external auditors.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; and seven years governmental accounting experience, including two years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree and/or CPA.
Required Licenses or Certifications- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- Work is performed in a standard office environment.
