Job Description
Are you passionate about STEM and love working with people? Join our dynamic STEM Outreach team and help bring hands-on science and technology experiences to K–12 students and the broader community! We’re looking for a student worker who is enthusiastic, dependable, and ready to jump into a variety of engaging projects and events. Great opportunity for students pursuing education, STEM , or communication-related careers.
STEM major is not required for this job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, setup, and execution of STEM outreach events such as:
- Robotics competitions
- Family Lab Nights
- Mayer Museum educational programming
- Represent the STEM Outreach program at community events, helping with demonstrations, registration, and general event support
- Support organizational tasks such as planning events, prepping materials, organizing supplies
- Collaborate with staff, faculty, and volunteers to deliver high-quality STEM engagement
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes
- Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Available to work throughout the summer in addition to the academic year
- Reliable transportation to travel to on-campus and off-campus events
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for event coverage
- Passion for STEM education and community outreach
- Previous experience in STEM
-related outreach - Experience as a student teacher
- Background in early-childhood development or science education
- Familiarity with robotics, coding, or science demonstration tools
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
- Ability to lift and carry equipment (provided by the department).
