Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced automotive repair technician with a solid understanding of vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical components. The ideal candidate for this Automotive Repair Technician & Customer Experience Specialist hybrid role should have hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of makes and models, demonstrating strong mechanical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment is essential, along with the ability to accurately identify issues and perform efficient repairs.
Additionally, excellent problem‑solving abilities and a commitment to quality workmanship are crucial. The candidate should possess effective communication skills to explain repair needs to customers clearly and work well within a team environment. Industry certifications such as ASE are a plus, as they indicate a proven level of expertise and professionalism in the field.
- Openness to learn and perform basic general service maintenance tasks, including oil changes, fluid checks, brake inspections, tire inflation, and other preventative maintenance services.
- Ability to perform tire repairs, including patching, plugging, replacement, and balancing, while adhering to proper torquing procedures that follow manufacturer specifications.
- Embrace the onboarding process and continual training using mobile learning management systems, POS (Point of Sale) operating system, and lead-follow mentoring on service procedures, safety protocols, and operating processes.
- As the face of our commitment to automotive service excellence, we are looking for individuals with a positive and friendly attitude, paired with a proven track record in writing maintenance, repair, and preventative service recommendations that prioritize customer satisfaction.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers in a positive and friendly manner, effectively communicating maintenance, repair, and preventive service recommendations tailored to their vehicle's needs.
- Coordinate between the front office service desk and the service department to streamline the service process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all vehicle services to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure that all vehicles receive necessary attention and are repaired correctly the first time, maintaining a high level of quality service delivery.
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal technical training or ASE certification(s) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive service, repair or customer service roles.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn automotive repair business.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Basic knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency in using service management software and diagnostic tools.
- Team player with strong organizational skills.
