Role OverviewJoin our team as an Assistant Office Manager at San Angelo State Park, where you’ll help keep operations running smoothly and support a dynamic team dedicated to preserving Texas’ natural beauty! This role offers a chance to work in a scenic environment while managing administrative tasks that make a real impact on park visitors and staff.
EssentialJob Duties
- Administrative Support (30%):
Responds to basic inquiries, performs daily administrative tasks, and manages workflow of administrative duties. - Purchasing, Accounting and Budgeting (30%):
Assists with fiscal control, revenue collection, purchase order entry and use of a state procurement card. - Personnel Management (30%):
Coordinates equipment/uniform assignments, provides training information, and assists with applicant screening. - Other Division Specific Duties (5%):
Provides customer service to site visitors/public. - Marginal Duties (5%):
Performs additional assignments and follows agency rules and procedures.
- Education:
High School diploma or GED. - Experience:
One year of administrative support work. - Licensure:
Valid Texas driver’s license.
- Two years of administrative support experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience with cash management, accounting, auditing, or revenue reporting concepts.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of office practices, budget tracking, purchasing procedures, and retail sales practices.
- Skill with standard office equipment and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skill with virtual meeting platforms (MS Teams, Zoom, Webex) and Adobe products.
- Skill in training others.
- Ability to communicate effectively, handle difficult/emergency situations, and accurately handle cash.
- Full 40‑hour work week (8 hours/day, 5 days/week).
- May require overtime, holidays, weekends, and travel (5%) with possible overnight stays.
- May operate a state vehicle and must adhere to safety and dress standards.
