The Senior Development Review Manager plays an integral role in the Public Works (PW) Department’s leadership team and provides effective direction, control, and management over development review engineering and inspections services for the City. Manages and leads a high‑performing engineering and inspection team that supports, develops, and implements solutions to complex problems that arise in the design, review, construction, inspection, and asset maintenance associated with development projects and right‑of‑way management.
Collaborates with all divisions of PW and茸 other City Departments, and meets and confers with developers, contractors, engineers, and the community regarding City policies, regulations, procedures, and projects. Work involves overseeing permit review, construction management, inspections, contractor quality control for development projects and any private use of the right‑of‑way, developing updates to code and standards, evaluating and implementing procedures and processes, participating in asset management, and providing oral and written communications to a variety of audiences.

- Manages and leads a high‑performing engineering and inspection team that supports, develops, and implements solutions to complex problems that arise in the design, review, construction, inspection, and asset maintenance associated with development projects and right‑of‑way management.
- Plans, administers, performs, and manages tasks related to development review and inspection as it relates to public infrastructure, including requests for variation from City’s adopted Public Works Standards.
- Communicates with a wide variety of audiences and presents to City Council members, Commissioners, and the community and the public as needed to provide information, project updates and recommendations related to all engineering or permit related issues affecting the City.
- Represents.what? the City at public meetings, open houses, and other venues, including regional meetings.
- Participates in the development and administration of the departmental budget; recommends the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; approves expenditures and implements budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary.
- Leads the development and implementation of technical and business practices and procedures related to development review and right‑of‑way permitting and inspection.
