Learning Mentor Position - Plymouth

, and driven to make a tangible difference in a young person's life? Join our dedicated team as a Learning Mentor in an alternative provision academy. We provide a highly supported, personalised learning environment for students who are unable to attend mainstream education.

This isn't just a job; it's a chance to work one-on-one with students aged 5 to 16, helping them overcome complex issues, re-engage with their education, and build a brighter future.

Key Details
  • Position: Learning Mentor

  • Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday, during term time)

  • Salary: £85 - £90 Per Day

  • Location: Plymouth (travel between sites/student homes may be required)

What You Will Do:
  • Provide personalised support to students, addressing both behavioural and academic challenges.

  • Help students develop crucial coping strategies and life skills through engaging activities and weekly trips.

  • Offer academic assistance and support for students'
    emotional well-being
    .

  • Collaborate with families to help create a stable home environment that supports the student's learning and behaviour.

Who We Are Looking For:
  • Resilient with a strong desire to make a positive impact.

  • Previous experience working with young people
    , especially those with challenging behaviours
    .

  • GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent experience.

  • An understanding of school safeguarding and digital literacy
    .

  • A full driving licence is preferred (due to the nature of the role).
