Warehouse Clerk

Overview

Warehouse Clerk receives and processes incoming stock and materials, picks and fills orders from stock, packs and ships orders, or manages, organizes and retrieves stock in the warehouse. This position ensures accuracy and timeliness of all the listed job functions.

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Maintain inventory of loaners and rental equipment.
• Identify damage, shortage or surplus.
• Fulfil sale, transfer and Inter-Territorial (ITT) orders.
• Prepare shipping documents as Bill of Lading (BOL), labels & packing slips.
• Palletize, band and shrink wrap items for ship outs.
• Schedule pickups through commercial carriers, UPS and Fed Ex.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
• Request quotes, provide BOL and schedule pickups for other DEX branches.
• Monitor and assign serial numbers to Machine Request & Installation Forms (MRF) and track back orders.
• Load DEX trucks and store them in the designated location at the end of the day.
• Clean and organize warehouse.
• Offload freights from commercial trucks using a forklift and/or pallet jack.
• Comply with safety rules.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual will have to be able to learn Microsoft Office and Inventory software (e-automated system).
• Ability to understand and utilize basic math.
• Knowledge, skill, and ability to safely operate a forklift and manage loads of heavy boxes.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks independently with precise detail and follow-up.
• Completes additional tasks and assignments as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor and Manager.

• 0-2 years of warehouse experience preferred.

• Regular business hours. Some additional hours may be required.
• May or may not have a climate controlled environment during normal business hours. This could include unloading delivery trucks and breaking down trash outside.

• Sitting – Up to 7 hours a day
• Lifting – Up to 50 lbs. per lift, up to 0.5 hour(s) a day
• Walking – Up to 2 hours a day
• Pushing/Pulling – Up to 50 lbs. per effort, up to 0.5 hour(s) a day
• Standing – Up to 4 hours a day
• Twisting – Up to 1 hour a day
• Kneeling – Up to 1 hour a day
• Reaching – Up to 2 hours a day
• Climbing, Balancing, Step stool, Stair usage – Generally not applicable
• Exposures and constraints:
  Excessive heat/cold, dust, humidity, or unusual hearting/vision demands not specified; data entry/typing up to 4 hours a day.

Notes on safety and physical demands Employees should not lift, pull, or push a load in excess of 50 lbs without assistance. Use proper lifting techniques and seek help when needed.
