Job Description
This position will support either Order Processing or Shipping operations in the warehouse, supplying gospel teachings, resources, or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way, supporting the mission of the Church. The incumbent performs daily receiving, warehousing, selecting, and shipping tasks. Responsibilities may include replenishing, auditing, inventory, documenting, and shipping materials domestically and internationally. The role involves using heavy material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, electric pallet jacks, automatic strapping equipment).
Incumbents may work directly with customers or ecclesiastical leaders to resolve order delays and make corrections. They may drive vehicles to transport materials and participate in physical inventories. This position provides entry or training level warehousing experience under close supervision.
Employment Type
This is a temporary, full-time position with a fixed term. Employment will conclude on the specified end date or earlier if circumstances require. If selected, you will join either the Order Processing department or the Shipping department;
Global Distribution Services reserves sole discretion to assignment.
- Day
Schedule:
Monday to Friday – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM;
Overtime as business needs dictate. You will be informed ahead of time. - Swing
Schedule:
Monday to Friday – 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM;
Overtime as business needs dictate. You will be informed ahead of time.
- $18.00 per hour
Specific work may vary between departments but will be of similar complexity and difficulty to the following:
- 80%:
Pick and pack orders or be assigned to shipping orders; perform general material handling/warehousing duties (receiving, storing, inventorying, shipping, and disbursing materials); process materials using postal manifests and meter equipment; load and unload trucks. - 10%:
Ensure quality of work; review and interpret shipping documents; verify quantities; inspect for damage; determine country of origin and language code for international materials; prepare receiving and inventory records; record weight and dimensions in the warehouse management system. - 5%:
May drive small or medium trucks to deliver materials or pick up from vendors; assist supervisor with vehicle maintenance and safety; complete and submit logs and reports on vehicles. - 5%:
Maintain equipment, buildings, grounds as assigned; assist in loading 40-foot trailers for shipment or preparing pallets for worldwide shipping, balancing loads to meet weight, space, and distribution requirements.
- High School diploma or equivalent with basic math and computer skills.
- Preference for warehousing, material handling, or related work experience.
- Experience operating motorized material handling equipment including forklifts preferred.
- If driving heavy machinery is required, a valid operator’s license for the vehicle is required; onsite training and certification will be provided.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
- Physical ability to lift/move/push/pull items (up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance).
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps; operate a pallet jack up to 2,500 lbs.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be Temple Recommend Worthy or hold a current Temple Recommend.
