Senior Software Engineer

Lead the engineering strategy and execution for Circle’s blockchain infrastructure as a Senior Software Engineer. Help enable tokenization across multiple protocols by designing, building, and maintaining scalable microservices, APIs, and underlying data pipelines.

• Extend Circle’s in‑house blockchain infrastructure to support tokenization of the world.
• Analyze requirements, procedures, and problems to improve and modify existing systems.
• Build and own scalable microservices that provide reliable and secure APIs for transferring value and assets across blockchain and traditional banking protocols.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design, test, and shape Circle features, documenting system and testing procedures and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot program and system malfunctions to restore normal functioning.
• Build publicly accessible APIs that simplify developer integration with complex payment systems.
• Integrate Platform Services with leading banks and financial technologies.
• Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
• Write infrastructure to deliver great payment experiences, including data sources (SQL or No
  
  SQL), messaging systems, and APIs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 6+ years of professional software development experience in object‑oriented languages such as Java and Go.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field (or equivalent).
• Led technical teams (2‑4) on architecture and system design.
• Experience with payment systems such as credit cards and bank transfers.
• Broad understanding of RESTful API design and development principles.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
• Experience with SQL databases and schema design.
• Proven experience designing and deploying production‑quality, scalable software.
• Focus on coding standards, quality, and strong test coverage to enable continuous delivery.
• Excellent communication skills, effective collaboration with remote teams, sharing ideas, and presenting concepts.
• Self‑starter who enjoys a fast pace, shipping software that improves the user experience, and constantly improving with little supervision.

• This position is eligible for day‑one PERM sponsorship for qualified candidates.

Base Pay Range: $152,500 – $205,000.
