Wheeler Machinery Co. is currently seeking a full-time Welder to join our team at our Salt Lake City, UT location. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating a variety of metals, ranging from sheet metal to heavy plate. You will be expected to read and interpret blueprints and build instructions. Perform high-quality welds while meeting or exceeding estimated time requirements.

Maintain a strong focus on safety and lead by example. Work collaboratively as part of a team. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in quality and productivity. We’re looking for a skilled welder who takes pride in their craft and thrives in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment.

• Demonstrate and work safely in all aspects of the job. Be a safety champion within the team, lead and model safe behaviors and drive continued safety improvements.
• Train a teachable employee in needed areas
• Collaborate with the manager and team leader to solve problems and provide effective solutions
• Read blueprints and identify markings
• Horizontal and vertical welding with 1/16 100 series wire
• Read inside and outside mic’s
• Set up and weld series of bores
• Fabrication from prints and weld projects
• Tig weld flat position (Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum)
• Locate specs from sis
• Order parts
• Writing service reports
• Precision measuring
• Preform all other duties as assigned

• Must be a self-starter.
• Must be willing to put in extra hours to take care of the customer.
• Must be a team player and work well with others.
• Must have a positive, can-do attitude.
• Must be able to perform tasks without constant supervision.
• Always keep a safety mindset
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Overtime may be required
• Ability to have a resolve for problems when they arise.
