We are currently seeking a skilled Millwright Mechanic to support our Shredder Maintenance team at our Salt Lake City facility. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to keeping our industrial shredder operating safely and efficiently. You'll be assigned to a specific process unit and work alongside a tight-knit team of 4-5 mechanics.

What You'll Do

As a Millwright Mechanic, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving heavy industrial equipment. Your work will directly impact safety, uptime, and production performance.

Key responsibilities include:

* Installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and processing equipment

* Troubleshooting conveyors and conveyance systems, including belt tracking and performance issues

* Performing precision alignment, leveling, and centering of machinery using lasers, micrometers, levels, and other tools

* Installing shims, adjusting clearances, tensioning fasteners, and ensuring optimal equipment performance

* Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling machinery and components as part of a team

* Performing stick and wire-feed welding as needed

* Working with hydraulic systems and diagnosing mechanical failures

* Handling rigging activities safely, including inspecting rigging, attaching loads, and guiding lifts

* Operating forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, and other mechanized equipment

* Completing assigned work on schedule and to specification, with attention to detail and safety

* Maintaining housekeeping standards in assigned work areas

* Completing required documentation and paperwork accurately

* Following Metro Group's Health & Safety standards, including JSAs and risk assessments

What You Bring

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in industrial maintenance or a comparable field

* Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability

* Experience with conveyors and precision alignment

* Working knowledge of hydraulic systems

* Welding experience (stick and wire feed)

* Basic electrical and controls knowledge (a plus)

* Ability to work safely in confined spaces and around heavy equipment

* Valid driver's license

* A team-oriented mindset with the ability to take direction and work independently when needed
