Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of Energy Solutions stationary machinery and equipment. Performs routine scheduled maintenance and repairs of broken and malfunctioning machines/equipment. Performs installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade workers (e.g., plumbers, carpenters, welders, and pipe fitters).
- Installs, maintains, upgrades, and fabricates machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools. Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. These tasks are necessary to ensure smooth company operations and to ensure high-quality products and services for Energy Solutions customers.
- Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, precision bearings, gear boxes, motors, mechanical clutches, conveyors, and tram rails using hoists, pulleys, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens machinery/equipment to foundations or other structures using hand and power tools.
- Constructs foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
- Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
- Operates engine lathes to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
- Takes measurements to ensure installed machines function at their maximum capacity.
- Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand and power tools.
- Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
- There is no supervision of other workers at this level.
- Responsible for the quality of his/her own work and satisfying customer (internal and external) specifications.
- Must be able to work independently and resolve practical problems.
- Must complete process/facility training as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player attitude.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks and determine whether repairs to equipment are needed.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and environments wherein there is exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, chemicals, and mechanical and electrical hazards.
- Ability to carry, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds; handle, grip, and reach above or below shoulder.
- Ability to use hands and feet to accomplish tasks as assigned.
- Ability to, stand, walk, climb, bend/stoop, crouch, squat/kneel, crawl, twist at the waist and balance.
- Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing, and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location.
