We're seeking a plumber to join our Facilities team! In this position, you'll be performing journey-to-master-level plumbing duties involved in maintenance, repair and remodeling of city owned facilities and sprinkler irrigation systems. You'll need to have an in-depth understanding of all commercial and industrial plumbing systems, culinary and sprinkler irrigation piping systems, sanitary sewer systems, and a high level of knowledge and experience in domestic water, condensing water, chilled water, hot water boilers and low-pressure steam piping systems.

About the Team:

The Public Services Facilities Division is an internal service that provides maintenance and repairs to City buildings such as City Hall, the Sorenson Unity Center, Smith's Ballpark, and fire stations. Applicants for roles within the Facilities Division can expect to directly provide or support the skilled trades and maintenance to the City's facilities to keep this important infrastructure running smoothly for its occupants.

Position Salary Range:

Level II: $25.86 - $34.02

Level III: $27.48 - $36.16

This position is eligible for full city benefits, including:

Key Responsibilities:

* Assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs pipes, fittings, valves, heads, and fixtures of irrigation, heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and international plumbing codes.

* Repairs and services water distribution and sewage facilities using hand and power tools.

* Reads and interprets blueprints in order to install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metal and non-metal materials. Joins pipes by using screws, bolts, solder, and plastic solvents.

* Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing fixtures, water heaters, water softeners, chillers and boilers.

* Maintains pump stations and various sizes of back flow prev enters including testing.

* Installs, tests and maintains systems for automatic or mode operation controls of pumps, valves, and other typical industrial equipment.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

* Level III:
Performs technical reviews of plumbing designs drawings and specifications and provides written comments.

* Level III:
Uses the latest technology to trouble-shoot problems, analyze leaks and detect plumbing deficiencies.

* Level III:
Maintains pump stations and back flow prev enters in an operable condition and responds to any alarms caused by equipment malfunction. Oversees all backflow prevention education, training and certifications.

* Level III:
Excavates trenches, installs proper shoring and possesses the necessary knowledge and ability to properly make repairs and install underground piping systems.

* Level III:
Exhibits extensive knowledge and complies with all OSHA CFR 29 standards relating to construction industry 19.26 and general industry 19.10 work.

* Level III:
Respond to after-hour plumbing emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

Level II

* Certificate of completion of a four-year accredited apprenticeship program.

* Utah State Journeyman Plumbing License.

* Ability to construct and design new plumbing systems. Must possess a full understanding of the International Plumbing Code.

* Possession of a valid driver's license or driving privilege card. Possession of a valid Commercial Drivers' License, Class A will be required or ability to obtain within six months of employment.

Level III

* 5 years of commercial/industrial plumbing experience.

* Utah State Master Plumbing License.

* UOSH 10-hour safety training certificate.

* Proficient in the use of technology including computers, tablets, cellphones, and system control devices.

* Ability to construct and design new plumbing systems. Must possess a full understanding of the International Plumbing Code.

* Knowledge and ability to perform minor low-voltage (240 volts or less) electrical tasks and have an OSHA "competent person"…
