PS Project Administrator

Job Summary

The project manager is responsible for managing and executing the day‑to‑day operations of the resilience scale validation study (PI: de Lacy) funded by the Palix Foundation. The person in this position provides administrative oversight of IRB and other regulatory activities, coordinates recruiting, scheduling, and enrollment of study participants, liaises with the partner study site in Alberta, conducts research team meetings, and trains and manages undergraduate and graduate research assistants.

The role also supports additional projects and administrative duties in the de Lacy laboratory and the BHIDC as required.

• Draft IRB applications and amendments
• Recruit, schedule, and enroll study participants
• Coordinate with the Alberta study team
• Manage study resources including staff scheduling, participant payments, and other financial transactions
• Train and manage teams of undergraduate and graduate research assistants in research protocols
• Participate in regularly scheduled project meetings with Dr. Nina de Lacy, Dr. Brian Baucom, and/or other study staff
• Perform other duties as assigned by Dr. Nina de Lacy or Dr. Brian Baucom
• Supervise research assistants involved in the study

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience (one year of education may be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four years of progressively more responsible related experience and demonstrated human‑relations and effective communication skills are required. A related Master’s degree is preferred.

This position is patient‑sensitive and requires full compliance with CDC vaccination standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be granted for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

Preferred candidates hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology or a closely related field. Prior experience with operations management and/or conducting mental‑health research or research in a closely allied field is a plus.

This position may require a criminal background check and/or drug screen. The role is temporarily funded for the duration of the Palix Foundation Project (DSS ), with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2027. Funding for the position may be extended subject to additional Palix Foundation support. The position will be temporarily hired into job code 1392 – Project Administrator while the patient‑sensitive job code PZ6461 – Life Sciences Project Manager is created under the new UCareers compensation structure.
