• Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customers receive what they want.
• Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients per recipe using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality for freshness and review"sell by" dates.
• Use kitchen equipment (stove, scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe, etc.) properly.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products when requested by customers.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Maintain product knowledge and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Monitor inventory and note discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
