- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
- Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
- Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customers receive what they want.
- Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients per recipe using kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
- Check product quality for freshness and review"sell by" dates.
- Use kitchen equipment (stove, scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe, etc.) properly.
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Understand store layout and locate products when requested by customers.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
- Maintain product knowledge and respond to questions with suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and note discrepancies.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
- Promote trust and respect among associates.
- Create an environment that welcomes customers and answers product questions.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repair needs.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults.
