Game Facilitator; Store Associate

Overview

Activate is a technology company building interactive gaming facilities across the US, Canada, and into global markets. We fuse technology and physical activity to create live-action gaming experiences.

The position involves facilitating games, assisting customers at check-in, and ongoing upkeep of games and the facility. This part-time role is based at our New Store, 5564 S. Redwood Rd., Taylorsville, UT 84123. The role requires thriving in a fast-paced environment and confidence in social situations.

• Game Facilitation: be professional in thought, language, and action; exemplify excellence in facilitation and provide a great customer experience; brief new groups prior to their experience; observe customers and explain when necessary; participate with customers in games if needed; monitor gameplay and provide timely aid; handle malfunctions with support from Team Leads; maintain a clean and comfortable work environment.
• Check-In Facilitation: warmly greet customers; verify appointment times and explain the check-in process; handle cash, debit, credit, or gift card transactions; issue receipts and wristbands; answer customer inquiries and involve a Team Lead if needed.
• Maintenance and Inventory: clean facility and washrooms as needed; perform painting around the main facility; assist Team Lead in checking inventory of merchandise; reset and disinfect wristbands; clean and disinfect lockers and lounge; notify Team Leads immediately of game failures or malfunctions; touch up equipment and props as required.

• 1 year of customer service experience is an asset
• Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong communication, multi-tasking, and time management skills
• People-oriented—energetic, friendly, outgoing, with the ability to engage a crowd
• Willing to work various shifts starting as early as 8 am and ending as late as 1 am

• Ability to lift and carry merchandise, supplies, and equipment as needed for stocking shelves and organizing inventory
• Capability to bend, stoop, and reach to access merchandise, perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, and maintain store presentation
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate for long periods
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs consistently and standing for extended periods
