Triage Nurse

firsthand is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong Emergency Department background to join our care team as a Remote Triage Nurse
.

Our team provides whole-person virtual care for individuals living with serious mental illness (SMI). In this role, you’ll help triage clinical needs, support care coordination, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure patients receive timely and compassionate care.

Full-time, remote

Day shift: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM PST or CST

Occasional nights or weekends may be required.

• Triage inbound clinical concerns from patients and staff via phone and electronic communication
• Rapidly assess symptoms and elevate emergencies when appropriate
• Collaborate with mental health clinicians, social workers, and advanced practice providers
• Coordinate care with external providers
• Support training and clinical guidance for peer mental health workers

• Active RN license (NLC state preferred)
• BSN required
• 3+ years Emergency Department experience
• Experience supporting patients with behavioral health or substance use challenges
• Strong triage, prioritization, and communication skills

• Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing certification (PMH-BC)
• Washington RN license

$75,000 annual salary
