As a registered nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:
- Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
- Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
In addition to bringing human kindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:
Education Requirements- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required;
Nursing Diploma or by endorsement. - Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs.
- One year experience preferred.
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty.
- RN License required; current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
- Medium work – can exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, or up to 10 lbs constantly.

Centrally located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, the Emergency Department at Holy Cross Hospital – Salt Lake has 15 beds and cares for any and all patients who come seeking care, including infants to elderly, indigent/underserved community members, those with special needs, all racial/ethnic minorities, and psychiatric patients.
The nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 1:5 but can be up to 1:8. Our cohesive team teamwork, dependability and accountability allows us to focus on specific complaints quickly and efficiently, so we can maintain significantly shorter wait times than all the other hospitals in the valley. An ideal team member would be able to work quickly in a fast‑paced environment, multi‑task, and make critical decisions efficiently in stressful situations while having compassion for patients and confidence in their abilities.
Range
$32.01 - $48.43 per hour
