Overview
Supervises Welders and Mechanics in an industrial repair and fabrication setting. We rebuild crushers, pumps, gearboxes, heavy equipment. We run hardwire, Dual shield, mig, Tig, Stick. We build weldments, weld up worn parts to be re-machined to spec. We inspect, tear-down, estimate and research obsolete parts. We utilize NDT techniques to inspect for deficiencies in parts.
Responsibilities- Set schedules and estimate time requirements for jobs
- Understand and interpret specifications and prints
- Understand and enforce safety standards
- Evaluate tool and equipment needs of shop
- Maintain necessary stock levels of consumables
- Solve problems with jobs, time and personnel
- Maintain records of projects, develop instructions for personnel
- Coach and mentor employes, Assess employee performance
- Estimate time and resources for projects
- Communicate with engineers and project managers
- Manage 6 to 10 people daily
- 10+ years of experience in welding and industrial mechanics
- 5+ years experience managing people and projects
- Welding inspection certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Ndt inspection certification Preferred (or ability to obtain)
