Position: Mold Maintenance Technician (Nights)

Overview

Job Description

Summary:

HS Diploma/GED Required. Temperature controlled environment. On-site gym (24 hour) and cafeteria. Every other weekend off. Work 15 days per month. Shift differentials. Significant PTO. On-site location: BD manufacturing facility. Work involves clean room or laboratory manufacturing environment with various safety and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

Clean, repair, and maintain plastic injection molds.

Monitor spare parts supply (pins, pilots, etc.) and communicate needs to the Mold Technician (consider potential alignment to Tool Room Tech).

Report all cases of possible tool abuse and unusual problems to the Lead Person.

Perform necessary changes within mold bases to prepare the mold for the next work order.

Assist the Mold Set-up in other duties for which trained.

As required, train others in proper care and maintenance of tooling.

Clean dirt, grease, corrosion, gas from components before returning them to the Mold Technician for re-inventory or repair and mark damage, including damaged parts.

Work with Mold Set-up in removing molds or portions of them from the machine and re-installing after service is completed.

Learn the proper way to hone pilots and perform lapping. Comply with local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including HCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.

Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through sound quality assurance principles.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 2+ years’ experience in mold maintenance, mold set-up and troubleshooting

Shift

Night Shift 6PM-6AM; B Shift. Mandatory 6-month training period, Mon-Fri 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
