SUMMARY OF
JOB PURPOSE:
We’re immediately seeking an Exact 2500 Operator to join our Geneva Pipe and Precast.
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, includes a $2/hour shift differential
This position is responsible for running and monitoring the Exact 2500 automated system to keep production moving smoothly. The role includes helping with machine changeovers, solving problems quickly, keeping the work area clean and safe, and doing basic maintenance
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates the Exact 2500 automated system
- Oversees workflow and throughput of the Exact 2500 automated system
- Under direction of the Dry Cast Supervisor, coordinates production inputs, product changeovers, and rapid response for troubleshooting of issues
- Ensures general housekeeping and safety
- Performs some preventive maintenance
- Operate overhead crane. Operate the MBK cage welding machine, as needed
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is necessary in order to perform the essential functions of this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCE:
· High School diploma, GED; or one-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· On-the job training for operating the Exact 2500 automatic production system
EXACT OPERATOR I – this level of Mill Operator is responsible for operation of the Exact 2500 production system. Daily tasks related to machine operation are self-directed. Other duties, or coordination of cross functional tasks, are performed under the supervision of the Dry Cast Supervisor.
EXACT OPERATOR II – this level of Exact Operator is responsible for performing duties described for Exact Operator I. This level of Exact Operator requires additional training, skills, experience, and/or certification. Exact Operator II is responsible for coordinating rapid response and troubleshooting of issues within the Exact 2500 system. Exact Operator II has sufficient experience throughout the Exact 2500 system to rotate through all the areas (MBK, mixer, tip out, forklift, etc.)
and provide coverage as needed.
EXACT OPERATOR III – this level of Mill Operator is responsible for performing duties described for Exact Operator II. This level possesses advanced experience. Employees in this position can effectively operate all areas of the Exact 2500 system and may be responsible for providing on-the-job training to new employees as well as perform preventative maintenance.
