Your Role
The Controls Technician supports the safe, reliable operation of automated manufacturing equipment through hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role partners closely with maintenance and engineering teams to support high-quality, regulated production environments.
What You’ll Do- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLC-controlled automated equipment including mechanical and pneumatic interfaces
- Diagnose electrical and controls issues across 480V, 110
VAC, and 24
VDC systems - Support installation, modification, and upgrades of automated equipment
- Work with Allen-Bradley PLCs (RSLogix 5000), VFDs, motor starters, and control panels
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings
- Analyze faults, identify root causes, and implement lasting solutions
- Document repairs, modifications, and system changes
- Communicate with cross-functional work teams to align priorities
- 5+ years of controls and automation technician experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong PLC and industrial electrical experience (AB preferred)
- Ability to safely diagnose complex electrical and control systems
- Knowledge of interface with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
- Experience reading electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience
- Must meet U.S. Person requirements (no visa sponsorship)
